Veritas congratulates the candidates that stood in the recent elections. We really appreciate all the hard work and effort they put into their campaigns. Veritas achieved various results from very poor to very good depending on the local conditions and local party infrastructure. Well done to one and all. Pride of place must go to Bob Maxwell who took 28% of the vote (nearly 4 times as many as Labour) in South Bedfordshire, a great result for Veritas.
The fight will go on and we know that if we can get good local organised units we can make a difference. Bob's result proves that. It is up to us all to continue the battle and not fade for we all know how hard the fight is and why we have to win it.
The individual results are shown below and yet again we thank the candidates for their efforts.

Local Elections May 4th 2006
Dear Members
On behalf of the Veritas Party I would like to thank all those members who campaigned tirelessly during the run up to the local elections. Particular thanks must go to David Rust Chairman of the Hull branch and Mike Ford Chairman of the Bolton branch who fielded several candidates in their area and whose campaigns undoubtedly highlighted the party profile.
Their contributions must not be underestimated, as without these members who work for the Veritas Party at grass roots level, the party would in effect become stagnant. These branches and members are the life-blood of the party and we cannot thank them enough for their tremendous effort and hard work.
Although, we failed to take any seats at these local elections we did manage to maintain a presence at local level in the North East, the Bolton area and the South West.
No-one said that getting our message out there would be easy and we should now look to consolidate the ground, however small, we have made since the founding of the party and now at these local elections.
Again, congratulations and a very sincere thank you to all our candidates, their families and supporters.
Upwards and onwards.
Yours sincerely
Therese Muchewicz
Party Secretary, Veritas.
Cheadle By-Election July 14th 2005
Veritas would like to thank all the people who helped our Candidate Les Leggett in Cheadle recently.
The results are as shown below:
Lib Dem 19,593
Con 15,936
Lab 1,739
Veritas 218
Alliance for change 81
There are many particular local issues in Cheadle which meant that the two main Parties there (the Lib Dems and the Conservatives) devoted massive resources and personnel to try and beat the other. The result was that all the other parties including Labour, the party of Government, were squeezed out. Labour even lost their deposit which was massive blow for them. The conservatives also suffered a hefty setback in Cheadle which was one a very safe Tory seat.
The Veritas aim was to continue to raise the profile of the party both locally and nationally and we feel we have succeeded in our primary aim. The future is bright for Veritas in the upcoming local elections in Cheadle as a result of our endeavours there.
This is due mainly to the magnificent efforts of the candidate Les Leggett and his Agent Alan Ainscow who together with other members of Veritas from many regions worked extremely hard in the area canvassing. We thank them again for their efforts and commitment in Cheadle.
Well done to all who assisted the party in the last few weeks in the by election.
General Election May 5th 2005
Despite the party only being three months old, Veritas fielded 65 candidates nationwide on the day. This was a remarkable achievement considering that the Labour Party didn't manage to field more than 28 candidates in either of their first two general elections (as the ILP & the LRC).
Our 65 candidates polled a total of 39,864 votes between them. The individual results were as follows (by % of vote):
